Muscovite Meeting at Oregon Public House

You never know where we are going to pop up next!

On Saturday, July 30, the Muscovites had an official top secret public meeting at Oregon Public House.  There are a couple of really cool things that you need to know about Oregon Public House:

The building was once the Woodlawn Odd Fellows Hall.
Mount Moriah Grand Lodge of Oregon also used to hold meetings there when it was Woodlawn lodge.
Oregon Public House is the first non-profit pub and gives a percentage of every purchase that you make to charity.  You get to choose from a list of charities that you would like to support.

Definitely check them out if you are in the area.  As for the Muscovites, we enjoyed a wonderful meeting with yummy food, great fellowship and even made some new friends at neighboring tables who wondered who are all these people wearing funny hats!

Baku, Bingo & BBQ!

Bingo night used to be a BIG HIT at Peninsula Lodge!  On July 9, 2016, we brought out the vintage bingo set and cards and held our first bingo party in many years!
Winners of the rounds spun the wheel to see how much money they would take from the collection for that round!

The remainder was donated to the Shriner's Hospital for Children - a project sponsored through our partnership with Mt. Moriah Grand Lodge of Oregon.

David Scheer did a great job as the Bingo Master - calling out the numbers!  (Really, he just wanted to play with that super cool old machine!)

There were 13 participants for our first BINGO night - one of them was taking the photo!! - and after a couple hours of fun, we raised $151 for the Shriner's Hospital!

We hope to see you at the next one!!!

Congratulations, Laptop Award Winners!

The Laptop Award for Community Service program at Peninsula Lodge was created out of a desire to reward graduating high school students for their community service projects.  This year, we received 25 applications and selected five winners who we felt best exemplify our lodge's mission to provide our community with our best work.

Each winner received a laptop computer.

This year's recipients represent the following local schools:  David Douglas High School, St. Mary's Academy, Grant High School, and Catlin Gabel School.

Application packets for the 2017 award will be available in March of next year.
